My mom emailed multiple caregiving companies that were referred to her by Rocky Mountain Human Services.

The easiest way for her to pre-interview caregiving companies is with an email due to her vocal cord dysfunction and other health issues. That way she doesn't have to repeat over and over what her needs are and end up incessantly coughing and unable to catch her breath, because of overusing her voice. Emails work best for her, the potential client

My mom emailed multiple caregiving companies that were referred to her by Rocky Mountain Human Services.

She reached out to these companies about caregiving services and never received a response. It’s disappointing that a caregiving company—whose work is supposed to center on compassion and attentiveness—couldn’t take the time to reply. If they can’t respond to an inquiry, it makes one question how responsive they’d be to actual care needs, especially in an emergency. We depend on responsibility and compassion.

We don't want to work with a caregiving company that doesn't even care enough to respond to an email

These are the companies she wrote to as a resule of Rocky Mountain Human Services having put the word out for the need for a caregiver in mom's situation. Rocky Mountain Human Services gave mom the list of companies to contact

Denver Home Health Care – 11-10-25 – They won't do it. Not enough hours. They've had 6 different names registered with the State of Colorado since 2001 and multiple times going "Delinquent." I find this suspect!?!

Sahaj home health care - NO, they don't have an address or phone number listed on their website. All they have is a form w/o any information for them. Why would I give my contact information if they don't provide theirs. There is no business listing for them in the State of Colorado. I find this suspect!?!

Shared Touch – 11-10-25 – Their email came back undeliverable. It's not wrong, because I cut-and-pasted it directly off their website. Maybe they listed it wrong. Their State License lists them on E. 4th Avenue, not S. Beeler like it says on their website. Why the discrepancy? I find this suspect!?!

I'm in need of a caregiver starting on/around Monday, November 24, 2025 or after

I've attached a PDF that describes my needs. I am sending out multiple copies to multiple caregiving businesses (blind copied) per the Rocky Mountain Health and Human Services office that gave me a list of companies to reach out to

I've been authorized up to 7-1/2 hours per week. I prefer it be done on one day a week, because I don't need my laundry done twice a week

It's just easier for me to write, vs my playing phone tag, etc. It's a LOT less stressful as well

I'm also disabled and because of multiple TBI's I can't hold a phone with my shoulder up to my ear and often people complain about not hearing me when I use a ear mic/head mic

I also cannot talk very well on the phone, because of past Hurthle Cell Thyroid Cancer. The surgeon messed up and when I talk I OFTEN start coughing incessantly

If you think you have a caregiver, please let me know

As an FYI...I DO NOT text. I have Vertigo from multiple TBI's (abuse-related). If after we talk via email and I give you my phone number and you call, please be forewarned

Privacy is VERY important to me, because I've been dealking with an ex, his friends and family since 2003, 22 YEARS. They've been harassing and stalking me

I have a rather unique outgoing voice mail on my phone. I'm a Native of Colorado, but the outgoing message is by a British woman and I talk about stalkers

IF you come to my home (Listed what popular mall she lived by) I require to know your full name and if you bring someone with you I require knowing their full name in advance as well

I do require that the caregiver you send to my home have a COMPLETE and THOROUGH background check. The last caregiver that was sent to me wasn't given a background check and she stole 6 pairs of my shoes. It was reported to the police

Mom listed all these demands, because she's had to deal with previous caregivers that violated their job requirements. That's why she lays them out on the line up front. She's had some REALLY BAD "caregivers"

NO PERFUMES OR SCENTED PRODUCTS WORN. SMOKE-FREE AS WELL

MUST BE FLUENT IN ENGLISH – I had a previous company that wanted to send me Spanish speaking or Russian speaking. That's TOOOO much of a problem when my trying to communicate with them

I point these things out, because the past caregivers didn't adhere to MANY of these things. I don't want a repeat performance!

Baking – I bake veggie & egg muffins every 6 months. I can't use a stove or oven, but I do use a microwave, crock pot & Babycakes Baking pan. I've found after this last time of baking I can no longer stand long enough to bake them all at the same time.

Cleaning – I use unscented products. If they are scented they're items I can tolerate. I don't use bleach and can't have it in my home. I have Asthma and allergies. My allergies are DEADLY! I carry an EpiPen

Cleaning – Be conscientious of the number of latex-free gloves you use. One of my previous cleaners used 8 pairs a week. They're expensive for those on a limited income.

Computer – no using my computer and no asking me to print stuff using my printer.

Dentures – no pouring cleaning products into my denture cup

Dusting – if you don't dust don't bother taking the job to work for me.

Family – no bringing your friends and family to work. No bringing them so they can use the Internet

Food – I won't be providing them meals or coffee

Groceries – I have this all figured out. I won't be requesting a caregiver to pick up my meds, groceries or to get them an extra credit card so they can use it for my groceries

Hair cutting – They don't need scissors or need to be licensed. I have a Flowbee and cut my hair once a month. They just need to cut the back. They won't be touching my hair at all. The Flowbee works like a vacuum cleaner. Go to YouTube and search for George Clooney and Flowbee to see what I'm talking about

Health – no drug addictions or coming over with a cold or contagious illness.

Hiding things – no hiding my possessions or pulling the plug on electrical plug ins.

Laundry – no asking me to go out and buy extra clothes and linens so you can take them home to wash and bring them back the next week and then take this week's laundry home to your house. This is a work-at-home job, but it entails working at MY home.

Mask - MUST wear a mask and be covid-vaccinated. I'm immune-compromised

Medical appointments – I won't be asking for their help to get me to appointments. I'm not allowed to be in their vehicle

Money – I don't keep cash on hand so don't ask to see how much money I have or for a loan.

Punctual – no more than 30 minutes late with the exception of a snow storm. If you're going to be later than 30 minutes don't bother showing up this week. I will report you to your employer if you're late. I had one worker not show up for 6 weeks and she told her boss she was going to report me to Medicaid for saying bad things about her. She'd been forging my signature on her time sheet and she asked me to call her directly and not her employer. I don't reschedule, because my time is important and I have other things to do.

Stealing – no stealing. The last caregiver stole 6 pairs of my shoes. If I suspect theft I will ask to inspect your bags/backpack. If I find you've stolen I will report it to the police like I did before

Vacuum – be watchful for items on the floor that could get sucked up into vacuum. You ignore items and it breaks my vacuum, you pay for a new one ($150)

Walking – I may take walks inside the building I live in. I won't be going outside due to my Vertigo

Days available noon-11pm. Our laundry room closes at 11pm
Tuesday thru Sunday, NEVER on Monday's or Wednesdays

Other Health Restrictions
I am on Disability, use a rollator walker & tire easily
I have CPTSD from abuse
I have Allergies, Asthma, COPD, Vertigo (dizzy when I look to the left, up or down)
I have MAJOR food allergies, environmental & medication allergies as a result of a chemical exposure
I have fallen as a result of my Vertigo and now have a bad back.
I do have a treadmill & recumbent bike in my apartment that I use to exercise, but I'm okay on my own to do that
I am also able to shower on my own at this point as well
